Industry Indians Deputy Gang Members Beat Up Young Latinos

One mother's quest for justice exposed a deputy gang

Joseph Perez was beaten by seven Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies, included self-admitted members of the Industry Indians deputy gang. A few months later, those same deputies beat up a group of teenagers at a bowling alley. Joseph's mother Vanessa has continued to blow the whistle on deputies at the Industry station for the past six years. Cerise Castle spoke to her at a rally for Joseph outside of the Industry Sheriff’s station on July 25, 2026.
